My new bike

June 21st, 2008

Took delivery of my new Buell City X today from Blackbear in Newmarket today. Talk about chalk and cheese. Thats the differences between the Guzzi and the Buell. Side view of my new Buell CityX

Weather protection is virtually non existent and as everyone says, you get a wet back on the Buell. The wind blast is hitting my chest lower down than the Guzzi too. This does mean that the air around the my helmet is clear so the ride is alot quieter. The weight on my wrists is lighter too so controlling the bike at slow speeds is lovely. Blackbear set the suspension up for my specific weight so the bike looks like it’ll handle very well. I’ve not had an opportunity to give it some yet because its been very wet today and I have to run the engine, tyres and brakes in. New tyres on a wet road can cause all sorts of grief.

The build quality and components used on the Buell seem to be of a high standard and it looks like it’ll last the distance. One of the obvious problems I need to get over is the total lack of luggage on the Buell. I’m gonna use a ruck sack to cart my daily paraphernalia around when on the bike. Im currently looking at the Knox Six Pack and Kriega range of bags. I need to see both before I can make a call on the right one to get.Another side view of the CityX

Anyway, i’m going back out for a blast, well actually a ride coz I can’t thrash the nuts of the bike yet…
