Busy week

September 24th, 2008

Its been a busy week in Fatbiker land. I was worn out after the weekend ride down south. Obviously being a Fatbiker means that I’m not a fit biker :-(

In my tired state I left the parking lights on when I locked Buelly up Saturday evening after getting home. I didn’t manage a ride out on Sunday so come Monday morning at 04:50 when it was time to leave for work, the bike wouldn’t start :-( Not good news I can tell you. I had to quickly jump in the car with all my bike gear on to catch the train. I wasn’t impressed. Luckily I have an Optimate charging wire hidden just under the left side of the saddle and I managed to persuade the missus to plug it in for me that morning so by the time I got home all was OK again… Lesson to be learnt. Check the ignition switch and lights before walking away from the bike…

On another note my tank bag has arrived form Rex Marsee in the USA. I’ve fitted it along with the electrical hook up to my bike and will be using it by the weekend. A quick look around it confirms the excellent build quality. Pics and a review to follow…

I’ve manage to perform a Jedi mind trick on the missus and persuaded her to let me splash out on some Touratech kit for Buelly. I’ve ordered the metal belly pan, front engine guard, oil filter guard and oil cooler guard. I’ve not got a delivery date off of them yet but will gets pics and info up on the blog once the bits have been fitted to my bike. I know its a bit tarty but I’ve not previously been able to buy bits for my bikes so having accessories available for my ride is a bit of a luxury so I just had to do it :-)
