Dirty Boy

I went out with a mate from the 1200sport forum yesterday. We took the scenic route over to North Leicester Motorcycles (NLM) to checkout the newest crop of Moto Morini bikes. The route taken was mainly country roads with minimal fast A roads. This meant lots of mud and crap but the bike coped well even though we were frozen cold. Thank god the bike has hand guards. They did a really good job of keeping the wind blast off.
NLM have been in business for years and know alot about the Morini brand. These bikes are well built, have an amazing 10000 mile service interval and are definitely worth a look see if you are in the market for a large v-twin bike. They also sell MV Augusta and had a £75000 model on display. It was one serious bike I can tell you.
On the way back Nick and I rode down through Market Harborough to Rockingham Classics and Sports. They are a Royal Enfield and Moto Guzzi dealer. We met the boss man Mark who supplied us with a welcome warm cuppa to keep the cold at bay. They are well worth a stop if you are in the area.
Buelly knocked back the 170 mile round trip with no problems at all. The power was spot on for the hilly and twisty roads of Leicestershire. I managed to get 150 miles out of the tank and reckon there is another 15 miles of fuel in there still. I reckon a 160 mile tank range on a 1litre engine is pretty good, especially as I was not riding in an economical manor. It was the last thing on my mind.
I’m hoping to do a back end transplant soon with a Buell Firebolt. The Firebolt has a more substantial back end and will give my son a larger patch to stick his bum on and will offer me more protection when the weather is bad. A UKBEG member should be sorting me out soon so watch this space…
