Meeting Ted Simon

June 6th, 2009

One week to go and the brother and I are off to Touratech to meet Ted Simon. I’ve not had many opportunities to actually get away on my bike coz I normally commute only. That’s not to say I never want to get away, its just family stuff and work…

As we’re only going for one night I’m gonna travel light. On the front will be my Marsee tank bag holding my electricals and visor wipes. My GPS will also be powered from the bag. On the back of the bike I’m either gonna use the Buell seat bag or I’m gonna bungee one of my waterproof Ortlieb role up bags. I’ve not decided for sure yet. Believe it or not, the only issue I have with storage is the return journey. The meeting with Ted also comes with a signed copy of his current book “dreaming of Jupiter”. Unfortunately that book wont fit in the seat or tank bag so this is why I may need to take the role up bag. We’ll see…

I’e been trying to get the Buell booked into Blackbear this week for the brake line recall but unfortunately they are too busy to fit me in at the moment. There’s also an update for the ECU which is meant to improve low rev performance. Its currently a tad lumpy below 3000rpm. It’s hardly a problem but as the update is free I’m gonna get it done.

Really looking forward to the weekend away on the 1125r. Lets just hope the British weather is kind…
