Ride out to Blackbear

July 4th, 2009

Went for a ride out with the brother in law today to Blackbear and the local Guzzi place to have a look see at the bikes. Whilst at Blackbear I arranged for the gasket to be swapped out on my water pump because its weeping slightly. They have also confirmed the order of the parts required to perform the brake line recall thats currently outstanding for my 1125r.

On we then went to Haywards where said brother in law tried a couple of Guzzi’s for size. He went out on a Griso 8v and a Breva 1100. I stayed behind chatting to another Guzzi owner. Haywards was full of Royal Enfields and new Guzzis and as always the place looked great. I understand that sales are still good for them even though the UK is in the middle of a recession.

After the ride out I confirmed that the Ulysses pegs I fitted during the week were not for me so off they came. Its a very quick job to swap pegs over and the adjustments for the levers was quick too… I’d noted the angles before I took things apart the other day…

My new X-lite 701 helmet is working out nicely. Stability, noise and comfort levers are all excellent. I did note today that I could not get a pair of sunglasses on so I’m gonna need a 2nd visor to go with it for the brighter day but thats gonna have to wait a month or so. If I spend any more money this month on the bike my missus will glow a gasket….
