Majorca and scooters
August 21st, 2009
Been out with the family to Majorca for the past couple of weeks. So hot and relaxing. Really missed the bike mind you and had to put up with looking at loads of crappy scooters flying around the island. These people have no cares in the world. The vast majority only wear a crash helmet and thats often not done up. The same riders only wear lip flops and no gloves. Imagine what could happen if they made contact with the road at only 15 mph let alone 30mph.
There were a few bikes around and interestingly most of the bigger bikes were Kawasaki Z750′s Dunno why but thats what they were all riding. I did see the odd Ducati 696 and maybe a harley or two. Majorca is definately a place where the scooter is king though. I know very little about scooters so cannot say what they were but I tell you now, they were everywhere and they were ridden by people across the whole age group.
It would be nice to see more bikers be it scooter or motorbike riding in the UK but I guess the place is so much bigger and with so many cars on on the road oh and the difference in weather… Forgot about that… yep, the weather was great….
Good to be home though. Done a quick 50 miles on the Buell with my Son riding pillion. Lovely….
