Nokia 5800 and motorbikes
August 31st, 2009
Ive been running a Nokia 5800 for the past week or so. Im specifically interested in the mapping application that comes with this phone. It includes voice guidance which when coupled with the N-Com X-Series bluetoothkit turns this phone in to an excellent cheap replacement to the expensive motorbike GPS systems.
This phone works just like the iPhone where you can be listening to music whilst on the bike AND receive voice instructions from a phone thats neatly tucked away on your person. I you want to see the screen of the phone then all you need is a Give S850 bag and off you go. The S850 velcro’s to the headstock of your bike and has a waterproof housing for small devices like phones or non waterproof GPS devices….
The music thing for me is great. I did a 60 mile trip down the M11 in to London this morning. This trip is not very exciting and I often end up hammering along to get the trip out of the way… This morning though I was listening to music. I sat there at 70 and cruised all the way…. So relaxing.
Obviously it goes without saying that you need a Bluetooth enabled hadset in your phone for this lot to work…
