Hi DrSteve. Your comments are very valid and I guess it comes down to what a purchaser is looking for in a bike. The 961 I would say is not an every day bike. It rides well but is not comfortable for long distance riding and I reckon the tank range is pretty poor too But then as I said above this is not a bike you would commute on. Its a bike to polish and ride on nice sunny weekends. The build quality is far superior to any mass production bike and you would only be able to understand this when you see and touch a 961 yourself.

I personally would love to own one of these bikes but at £13000+ they are very expensive to buy. For that money you could go out and get a serious Ducati or BMW and run it for a very long time knowing it would do exactly what you asked it to do without any arguments... Ive been on a quest for a while to find that bike that is special enough to be a life long keeper. I have spent so much money over the past few years on bikes and need to find the bike that fits my requirements. Is the 961 that bike? I am not sure that it is but I would like a 2nd ride on it before saying no.

but is it special enough once the new owner is through the "new bike, feeling good, everyone's looking at me" period?

For me it needs a torquey 90 horses or so and decent fuel economy. I love its looks but my parallel twin F800R has oodles of real world performance, handling and MPG and settling for anything less would seem a retrograde step.

I went for the medium so that I could carry a broad range of kit that i play with. I'm always trying out different phones so I wanted to guarantee they would fit. Ideally it could do with being a bit shallower because modern smart phones and car GPS units are so slim these days that you don't need the depth that my particular box offers. One thing that I have noted is that you do need to be careful with the clear screen on the box. Its easy for the seal to peel back thus requiring you to carefully place the screen back in to the edge of the box.

Besides that, its just fine and for the money is a viable alternative to spending out £300+ on bike specific equipment.

I've been thinking of getting one of these to use with my Desire.

How have you found using aquabox along with the phone? Which size did you go for? and is it bulky? It looks a little bulky in the pictures?

Thanks

That sounds about right. Don't forget to times the on dash reading by 1.201 to get the actual UK mpg reading. The dash shows the mpg in US gallons :-( Your reading works out at 44.5ish...
