This stuff is a bike saver. Use it!

Its a well documented problem for all Buell’s. Their exhausts rust big style. Many owners get them replaced under warranty but I reckon I may have found a way to keep the rust at bay on my bike.

I’m using a product called ACF-50 and spraying/wiping it all over the can on a regular basis. I’m 1500 miles into ownership and so far the can is still looking like new. ACF-50 is a product made originally for the aerospace industry but it’s crossing over into other areas now. I used it to keep my last bike, a 7500 mile Guzzi 1200 Sport in tip top condition. You just spray it on after a good clean up and then leave it for a while. You then wipe off the excess with a rag and spread it around the bike/engine and that’s it. This stuff is pretty thick so the crud off the road does stick to it and turn your clean bike into something bad after only 50 miles I then give the bike a good wash off and ride again. The ACF-50 leaves an invisible layer on the bike and is only removed if you use a cleaner like Muc Off. Believe me, it does work well and seems to stop rust in its tracks…

So for now, my exhaust can is still looking new and only needs a wipe down every so often with my ACF-50 soaked rag to bring it up new again…

Worth a look for sure. It’s £12.99 a tin and will last a year or so…
