Picture showing the results of the Maz Breather Mod.

Having ridden 500 miles with the so called Maz Breather Mod fitted I can confirm that its a worthy operation to perform on your Buell XB series bike. The engine around the 3000 rpm mark is a touch smoother and pickup is better too. I personally believe the bike to be a tad more punchy now when accelerating.

Splash

As you can see from this picture theres alot of condensation and gunk thats built up since last emptying the pipe. The white stuff you can see in the picture is emulsified oil and Im happy thats its not recirculating back into the engine. It can only help the motor run smoother.

As I have said in a previous post, I had my dealer install this modification when i had the bike serviced. It cost £100 but was worth while. Do it…

Buelly gets to breath a bit better.

You read it right, im wittering on about the Maz Breather Mod. This is an inatallation of some additional pipe work originally created by Maz of UKBEG fame. The idea is that it stops all the nasty internal engine gasses from getting recirculated back into the engine. For someone like me who’s journey is only 10 miles long to and from work, it allows the condensation build up to drain out of the engine instead of going back into the oil and emulsifying…

Performance wise this mod is meant to give 1 or maybe 2bhp but I have not ridden the bike enough since yesterday to confirm this. What I can say is that the engine is running a tad smoother.

I’d say that this is a recommended modification to do to your Buell…
